Sharon Lane Day of Support
Buddy Knox special guest at charity event
Many of you are aware of the SHARON LANE story – the talented Dubbo singer/songwriter who almost three years ago underwent surgery for a brain tumour, and came out of the crisis with a new lease of life, and ultimately her celebratory album Second Chance.
Sharon’s story was well documented, particularly through the R.P.A. and the Where Are They Now Television series and other media.
But now, following a succession of strong radio singles, glowing reviews for her album, a Deadly Award, a Victorian & National Country Music Award and other notable accolades, Sharon has received the crushing news that she has two more tumours and heads back to R.P.A. for surgery on 23 July.
Sharon is a mum, a wife, a mentor and motivator, supporting charity events, fundraisers, work shops for young artists and talking to schools.
Sharon now needs our support with the family again facing considerable medical costs at this fragile time.
To support Sharon and her family a ‘Day of Support’, will be held on Sunday 12th July 2009 in the Entertainment Lounge of the Dubbo RSL Club Resort. The ‘Day of Support’, will commence from 12 noon with performances by ‘The Buddy Knox Blues band’, and various artists along with auctions and raffles. Entry fee is Adults $5 Families $15.
At this tough time for Sharon, we now ask for your support by contributing to the day in the form of Goods or Services that may be raffled or auctioned on the day.
For more information please ring Tony Lane (0429 949 682) or Anne Mills (0427 892 349)
All goods should be sent direct to Bluescope Lysaght @ 35 Cobbora Rd, Dubbo NSW 2830 or contact Tony Lane for pick-up.
